Tamdhu 10

Postby archfluke » 20 Nov 2011, 04:05

Spotted a bottle of 10 year old Tamdhu today in a liquor store in West Hartford, CT. Anyone tried it? I've only had Tamdhu in its mid 20s but would definitely take the plunge for the price if it's any good.

It's all over here in the US for around $25...
Better than a blend, but not great. A grassy Speysider? I've assumed the 40%, filtering etc doesn't help it any...Still a great bargain, IMO. I'm curious, too, what others think...

I've tried a few but not the 10y, although a G&M 8y was very enjoyable. No not a great (90+ points) but certainly worthwhile and excellent value for money.

I'd say go for it to expand your whisky horizons.

Buy it. It's good; far better than Speyburn 10 for about the same price.

You might find it all over the US as athlete cured said, but the warehouse is sold out so what's left on shop shelves is all there is.

I look forward to seeing what Ian Macleod will deliver starting next year.

i hear ian macleod are considering premiumizing the tamdhu 10. i haven't replaced my last bottle in some time but i agree that it represents one of the best price to value ratios at the low end of the market.

Aye, I probably will. It was only $20 dollars. Only taking two or
three bottles back with me so trying to spend the time hunting some more before taking the plunge. Hitting New York at the weekend so'll have a hunt about there too.
